Amphokem CADP
Product Category: Amphoterics & Cationics
Cocoaminodipropionate
Amphokem CADP is a biodegradable high foaming amphoteric surfactant containing both carboxyl and amino groups in its chemical structure. Amphokem CADP has a wide range of applications in industrial cleaners and detergents and for other formulations where high stability to electrolytes is required.
Due to it’s amphoteric nature, in acidic solutions a quaternary ammonium salt is formed resulting in cationic properties. In alkaline conditions it forms a carboxylic salt which gives the product anioinic behaviour. Amphokem CADP is compatible with anionic, cationic and nonionic surface active agents, and shows excellent stability in aqueous solutions containing high electrolyte.
Between the pH limits (approximately 2.5 to 4.5) the cationic and anionic properties are balanced and a “Zwitterion” is formed. This pH range is known as the isoelectric range, within which Amphokem CADP exhibits minimum foaming, wetting and solubility properties.
Typical application examples:
Amphokem CADP is used in many applications where high foaming and good stability to high and low pH is required for example Industrial and Institutional cleaning applications.
Also, Amphokem CADP is used as a rubber latex foam stabiliser (especially in conjunction with sulfosuccinates) in shampoo formulations, germicidal formulations, textile auxiliaries, and as a dispersing agent for pigments. This product exhibits anti-corrosion effects on ferrous metal.
